Vanilla-Chai Infused Oatmeal

Sometimes staples such as oatmeal can become exceptionally boring. For a tasty and flavourful alternative try out my oatmeal upgrade.
Serving Size: 1-2
Preparation Time:10 minutes
Ingredients
1 cup rolled organic oats
1 cup coconut milk
1 chai tea bag (I use “My tea Chai” available at any supermarket)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. natural sweetener of your choice
½ cup water
Toppings
5 chopped dates
5 crushed pecans
Half banana sliced
Instructions
Step 1:
Combine coconut milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and sweetener and bring to boil. On a reduced heat add chai tea bag to mixture and allow to infuse for 3 minutes.
Remove teabag once infusion is complete
Step 2:
Add oats and water to chai infusion and allow to boil for approximately 10 minutes or until cooked thoroughly. If oatmeal thickens too much, add small amounts of water until the desired consistency is achieved.
Serving Suggestion Serve hot, and top with sliced banana, chopped dates and pecans
